I didn't know they came out with a Butterfly Effect 3. I hope it was better than 2. I thought for sure that 2 killed the franchise.

YOU'RE BOTH FOOLS!!!
J/K. It's definitely a different movie, but that's why I think it's so fucking fantastic. It's unlike anything I've seen before, and in a world where 95% of the movies coming out are remakes of old movies or remakes of foreign movies, that goes a long way, IMO. It's got a great story, it's got really great acting (my friend and I always reference the scene outside the gas station where Mikal and Eugene are arguing about "talking shit behind someones back" and "ease dropping" as one of the most realistic scenes of dialogue and banter that we've seen in recent memory). It was a movie that, by all accounts, should've been a deeply depressing movie. A place where all suicide victims go where everything is shitty and miserable? Yet they turn it into a romantic comedy rather seemlessly and flawlessly, and it's a movie you can watch with your girl and not feel emasculated because it's so ridiculous in its concept. It's not a fucking roses and puppies romantic comedy, it's a romantic comedy that makes you actually feel for the characters in there because they're not down on their luck individuals or quirky lucky people in the right place at the right time, they're all fucking dead, they killed themselves. They're all miserable and shitty and down on their luck. And they turn that miserable shitty existence into something joyful to watch that makes you smile
And for that, I love Wristcutters. I will forever promote that movie to anyone who asks me for movie suggestions, even if I know they'll hate it.

Awwww come on, broaden your horizons! Movies are movies. You're gonna let your opinion of a movie be dragged down because it's a romantic comedy, regardless of it's storyline or acting?
Some of the best movie in history are romantic comedies. The Graduate, Annie Hall, Tootsie... there's nothing wrong with romantic comedies as long as they're not girly cutesey pink rainbows and puffy hearts romantic comedies. In nearly every great comedy there is a romance subplot. This may not make the movie a romantic comedy, but romance is a part of almost every comedy that comes out.
Wristcutters isn't exactly a movie that screams to women "Ooohhhhh, pick me! I'll tug at your heartstrings!"

oh my god my new favorite movie and I'm almost done uploading got 25 mins left. It's one of the best movies I watched this year. Now I know why this guy was the most violent prisoner in England! This guy has spent 30 years in solitary confinement out of the 34 years in prison.
