honestly, just trying to stir up some talk on this dead-ass nfl thread(its football, guys, cmon!!!).
but i do stand behind brett favre being washed up. and he is right up there, for me, with guys like nick saban, bobby petrino, rodriguez and butch davis as far as being guys who were supposed to stick with their guns(even mj, too) and didnt because they all of a sudden realized they want to keep playing(or move teams, as in the coaches' situations). that is bullshit and even though we're all entitled to change our opinion, brett held the packers(who, amazingly enough are ACTUALLY bigger than one person) hostage(sorta like eli) until he got what he wanted.
im really glad they didnt give in and release him/trade him to the vikes. what would have been more satisfying would be to keep him for week 1, start aaron rodgers, breaking his streak and then trade him to whoever.
anyway, now that hes on the jests, as a dolfan, it helps me to hate him and them more. so thats why im being overly ridiculous..but also because i can.
i know the fins have blown during the same time the jests have. the point im making is that the two teams are in diff situations, whereas the jests have overspent(esp on favre) on talent that hasnt worked out so far and dont look like playoff contenders. the fins, on the other hand, have a lot of young players (and some vets, but mostly green newbs) who will have a chance in the near future to gel into a cohesive group.
i realize its only the 4th week, but with the way the bills are playing, and the erratic history of brett, it seems the afc east will be shaken up in the next few years, with the beneficiaries being the fins and bills.
the pats and jests will have to begin their own rebuilding era. (for the pats: their D and jests: mangini will have been fired and brett will be throwing tantrums and picks when the seasons over)
have fun!
