Going into the lion's den. What would you do?
Ok, so I slit my finger a little last night trimming up a brisket. It was really bloody at first, but I got it slow down by applying pressure. I didn't take a chunk out, the knife went in to my finger pads a little.
Had the band aid on and it didn't bleed through so I decided I would not need a stitch. Changed the band aid before bed and it looked a little more separated than when I decided not to go get a stitch and it started bleeding a little.
It doesn't hurt nonstop, only when I'm changing the bandaid and looking at it gives me a panic attack. I don't see muscle or bone, just an 1/8" gap.
Anyway, going to the urgent care during this every one is sick time (lion's den) seems like a really bad idea. I'm not scared of getting Corona Virus since I think I would live, but at the same time I don't want to go make out with someone that has it. Well maybe I would my husband if he had it. I dunno.
What do you think you would do?

My buddies who worked in the meat shop at Safeway and my wife the nurse both swear by superglue. I've used it dozens of times with cuts that wanted to separate or what wouldn't stop bleeding. Clean it out, dry it off, and superglue it closed. Put a clean bandage over it. Problem solved.
FWIW there's a much more expensive adhesive that is basically superglue but that surgeons use.

That's my plan. I do swear by that stuff. Even went and bought a new unexpired tube. Fancy all the way!

I've always wondered about it, but was afraid to try it in case it poisons you or something. Glad to know of people that did it and had success. I'll try to remember that.

Luckily it's stopped being so fucked up and I have hope again. See? I would have went to the stupid doctor and gotten sick. Fuck that.
Definitely could have been worse. Also lucky it was my submissive hand. My dom hand is going to have to kick the shit out of it later so she doesn't try this crap again.
I'm also embarrassed that I'm 39 and I'm too chicken to go to the doctor or dentist without my husband to hold my hand. I probably would have went if he wasn't working.

If I accompany my wife to an appointment, I ask her if she would like a complementary fingering while we wait. That usually makes her laugh and lightens the mood. If she goes with me, I ask her if I can finger her to take my mind off the visit. She doesn't laugh at those.

The Neosporin is a good idea. You have to tape the finger tight to get the wound to close up tight. If the SuperGlue thing is off-putting, most bowling alleys sell New Skin, which bowlers use to cover up calluses that tear off. It works good for closing cuts as well.

It's funny you say that, I was mad that I only had smaller band aids left in the mix box so I went and got a box of bigger ones. Then I was like, that's not going to keep it tight and am using the smaller ones anyway.
I already have that new skin stuff. I'll be able to use it eventually, but to me it's better for deep paper cuts or folder cuts. Used to get them daily at one place I worked. Glad I left there. I swear that stuff is just clear nailpolish though!

I did something similar a couple weeks ago splitting firewood. Needed stitches but what pushed me to urgent care was wanting a tetanus shot. That axe was dirty! Superglue does work on a nice clean cut.
