2 questions that I need help with please.
#1 How do I setup a MS Outlook account at work? I have a work email address. "Predator24@this_company_sucks.com" but I just don't know how to configure MS 2007.
#2 I use my personal laptop at work and DSF all day and shit but now the IT Cunt is supposedly going to limit access to the internet and any site any of us need we need authorization. : : : : :
Any help on these two questions will be greatly appreciated.
Do you mean that you want to set upyour email account hosted by your employer on your personal laptop?
If so, you'll need not just your email address, but also the exchange server name, your network Domain name (i.e. company123.local), User ID and password. Then open control panel, go to mail, "Profiles/Show Profiles" and Add... Also make sure that the "Prompt for a profile to be used" bullet is selected.
You will need to be on your employer's network to config this and to access email.
When you click Add, put in a new profile name (say your employer's), then make sure you select Microsoft Exchange Server. Fill in the blanks and make sure you click the "check name" box. You should get a ID/Password/Domain prompt and you must put correct info in there. If all that checks out, your name beside the "check name" box will become underlined.
Follow the rest of the prompts and if they're exchange server is a basic configuration, you're good to go. If not, you're going to have to ask the company tech guy.
As to the SMART IT guy filtering Internet access (sorry, this is basic IT Admin stuff and I can't fault them for doing it. Saves a business tons of money), there's likely nothing you can do about it except figure out if your cell phone will let you use it as a "modem" through your USB port. You'll need data access and hope that your provider can't tell if you are "tethering" your PC to your phone. If they can, wow, they'll charge the shit out of you.
Oh, you might be able to find an unsecured WiFi close to where you work. Be aware though, accessing even unsecured Wireless networks without explicit permission is against the law. If caught, you will face some serious fines and possible jail time.
I know you (and 99.9999% of employees) don't want to hear anyone say that a business filtering Internet is a good thing, but put yourself in the owners shoes. They don't pay people to screw around on the net. They likely pay higher service fees the higher their data usage is. Wide-open Internet means less security and higher support costs.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

Is there any trusty free software to convert .pdf to .doc?
I can't find it on the sites I'd normally get software and google result sites look dodgy

I'm thinking about buying either a macbook or a sony vaio. I have a copy of MS office professional 2007. If I buy the macbook can I use the same disc, or would i have to buy a mac specific office disc?

Pretty sure you would need a mac version.
Stay away from Sony IMO. I've had a lot of trouble with their service. It costs a fortune if anything breaks. I like Dell. They will sell you parts so you can do your own repairs.
