I mostly use a version of "oh that's cute"

an example - A rice racer with a tricked out honda once started talking to me about my car and then proceeded to brag about all the upgraded shit he had on his honda civic... so i said "oh i like Honda civics, they're cute. My girlfriend has one"
She didn't but thats what i told him.

Also if a girl is trying to give you shit you can say "haha oh that's cute how you got that little fake confidence thing going on, you remind me of my little sister" or something like that.
