Last night's talk about "betch" got me thinking about words and slang that i just don't like.

I actually hate when people call toppings or food condiments "fixins".
But I am in Texas so that probably won't change anytime soon.


Are there any words, colloquialisms, or slang that you just can't stand?

Let's make a list.

Holy fuck. We were just talking about "fixins" in class today. Weird.

Anyone that uses internet speak (lol, j/k, brb, etc, etc) in actual real life conversation, should be shot.

I also dislike when people say 'joshin' like, "I'm just joshin you." I'm sure I can think of more, but I'm eating right now.

Actually, your "fixins" one is similar to mine... uses "fixin" as in "I'm 'fixin' to go to the store." It annoys the hell out of me. But, it annoys BC too. So, I use it when he's around! Another one is "cut the lights on". Makes no sense to me. I can see cutting lights off...it's a stretch to me but you're essentially cutting the connection to them. But, cutting them on??? Oh hell no.

There are a lot of other words I hate. But pure slang...I'm so out of the loop there I don't know any for sure.

I'm guilty of that one. I still use it. It's so ingrained into my vocabulary I'd have to really try hard to stop saying it altogether. I got made fun of in tech school for saying it.
