yep, ive read about disconnecting the battery to reset it, and read something about "clusters", although i dont know wtf that means. doesnt seem to be a major problem, and its only affecting the dash...not the radio, etc. im going to look at it in the AM.....just hoping it doesnt turn out to be something expensive :

Your instrument cluster is just another name for all the gauges. Modern cars it's all one big circuit board. The lights are LEDs. A faulty ground like postmoves said, could easily cause these issues. Or it could still be the computer. Computer doesn't tie in with the radio nor would the ground for the instrument cluster.

Sorry suz, but I didn't want to start a discussion and hijack that thread, so I brought my comment over here.

I don't mind people's choices of religion and have no desire to restict their freedoms to practice those religions, except when it impeds on someone else's the comfort of life and sanity of mind. I'm glad she's out of your hair.
