I think it's pretty pathetic that I can learn more about the 1553 data bus from Wikipedia than from any of the tech data I've seen at work.

Air Force. It's the MIL-STD-1553A serial data bus. It's pretty old school shit from the 70s. We have a data bus problem on one of the jets I work on. I'm hoping none of the other shifts fixed it today cause I want another shot at it. I didn't tear into much cause the aircraft was supposed to be going on jacks for a landing gear problem (gear didn't retract after takeoff).
