I like the original The Hills Have Eyes best.

I saw Babel when it was first released to DVD. I was a sad movie. Only thing about that movie I never quite understood was the Japanese girl and her story needing to be in the movie.

Unless I missed something, the impression I got was that Telly didn't know he had HIV so it's not like he was purposely spreading it around. I could have missed something though. The ghetto talk was really distracting and annoying.

That and the kid playing Telly also played a drug addict in the Wire, so that kept distracting me too. All I could think about was his role in the Wire.

Now, of course you can go into discussions about how fucked up it is that he only went after virgins or that he should have been getting tested or that he should have been using condoms, whatever. I wasn't impressed by the movie but I may have gone into with my expectations too high. This movie was recommended by someone I work with as being really fucked up.

That's about right if i remember correctly. Sad thing is, that's how a lot of kids are these days. Having sex by the age of 11 and 12...doing drugs and talking like wannabe rappers and shit. It really felt like a documentary not a scripted movie. It was to "real" for a lot of people to enjoy.
