Ahhh yes, i've been in a similar situation although it never got to the "calling me late at night" extreme.

People need people. Isolation fosters depression and a lot of older people are so isolated even though they have family, often in the same city.

It's such a shame that all people really want to do is connect with other people... and so often can't.

I go through stages... i'll be a total hermit for a while and concentrate on work... then i'll party my ass off for a while... then the cycles starts over.

There are a lot of varying factors involved but those are the broad strokes.

True. And it gets hard when the elderly have issues with dementia or substance abuse. It gets easy to find reasons to not contact them.

My dogs are exhausted from all the activity.

I really only want to hang out with girls I can fuck, or I rather be alone. When I go out, I'm great with the greetings and the initial small talk, maybe one or two drinks. After that I start to get bored.
