Just because you miss the alien love scene in a movie does it count if the couple across from suck face? I mean the bucket of Cherry Coke they give you as to leave the body sometime, right?
might I add that is the first time I missed a part of a movie in about twenty two movies that I saw...
Holy fuck, that is weird. So apparently my father befriended this "30 yr old woman from Texas" online at one of those social sites (not facebook) and then back in the spring some time she convinced him she was waiting on her paycheck and it was delayed in coming because she is working overseas (Nigeria, long the home of good reputations and above-board money transactions). Since Mother's Day he's apparently sent her over $2500 in differing increments. She promises to pay him back (don't they all) and has not. Only catch is my dad's been out of work basically since May. He's drained his 401(k) between paying bills, reroofing the house, and sending this "woman" money.
So today I'm in remote assistance helping him with a problem he has with his Office installation. When I first connected I saw him sending her a message saying he can't get any money because he can't get a loan with no job. He closes the IM and I start to do my work. As I'm almost done, she sends him a message to the effect of "if I give you the code, will you send me money now" and he says "yes." Then the remote session magically ends, and when I IM him to tell him that he needs to do two more steps to finish the fix, he says "okay" and the goes offline.
The part that pisses me off is I send him job ads that look like they'd be good for him (veterans services position, he's a 20 yr retired Navy Chief) he says he can't type 40wpm so won't even apply. My mother is on disability due to diabetes, bipolar, and pancreatitis and her disability and his retired Navy salary don't make the bills, so they're falling behind. I'm helping him for free, and he cuts me off to arrange to send some scammer some money he doesn't have?!?! Fuck that, and fuck him.

I got pulled into one of those Nigeria scams, sort of?
Girl IM's me and asks me to ship her stuff that she buys for "clients" it was the early 2000's and I didn't know any better cause it didn't come in the form of an email scam.
I do it for a while and obviously build her trust cause the item get more and more high dollar by the shipment, she has a fedex account number to use, I do nothing but take it to Kinko's and ship it. took me like 4 months to figure out what was really going on and I start telling her i want stuff cause its all hacked fedex accounts and stolen credit cards.
I got some pretty cool shit out of it but at least it was never sending a "girl" money directly.
