EliteXC is doing alot of stuff that reminds me of WWE i.e. Diaz noons confrontation. I would never pay to see one of their fights, but will glady watch for free.
UFC might put on a free show to rival the affliction show. here is the article from mmajunkie.com

i loved that jardine fight, i was at my buddies house watchin it and he said that him and his soon to be wife met keith and that keith was hitting on his wife to be. i dont think i have ever seen him as happy as when he got pummeled, i laffed hard, and i like wanderlei so it was a double good fight
I was hearing that the UFC show that might be going up against the Affliction PPV could be showing a Wanderlei - Vera LHW match-up. That'd be a tough first fight for Vera @ LHW. . .but would definitely be a slugfest! I'd love to see it happen. Go Wandy

So, right before bed I was watching UFC Ultimate Knockouts 4 and got a little Lidell / Ortiz action and had a question. There are lots of rumors right now going around about Ortiz coming to Elite XC to knock off Kimbo. I know Tito is the FAR SUPERIOR FIGHTER but here's my thing---is he too proud to try and just take him down and Ground and Pound him? Ortiz has had trouble with guys with good handspeed (Belfort and Lidell come to mind) and I think that there's the chance that if he didn't shoot right away Kimbo might get a lucky punch as he definitely has fast hands. Tito has definitely been about inflating his ego in the recent past and wanting to prove what he's got, so I guess I'm wondering if you guys think he would attempt to stand or does he take out Kimbo like we all know he could and just work the take down?

Not bad for trying to counter the Affliction PPV that I won't be able to find on AWESOME Comcast. At least I'll have some MMA to watch. . .This is big news. You think Anderson is going to be as domiant at 205? What are ya'lls thoughts?

There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

I think there is more talent at 205. Silva has dominated 185, but the best he beat was Rich Franklin and I don't think Rich is a top 10 LHW.
BTW, no way in hell Tito would trade with Kimbo. Even if he did stand & trade, Kimbo couldn't knock out "Glass Jaw" Thompson so I can't see how he would KO Tito.
Smart of the UFC to not throw Silva to the 205 wolves on his first fight. Irvin isn't bad but hes not top tier. Irvin can get sloppy with his striking (swinging for the fences as they so delicately put it) so if they go toe to toe hes done. His only chance is to use is size and bully Silva to the ground and GnP. Silva is a BJJ black belt under Nogueira but I don't see him pulling off a sub if he gets put on his back. Should be a good fight and I'll take Silva by 2nd round TKO.
i think that tito would get beat by kimbo if he was standing the whole fight. but lately in titos fights he has been trying to stand and show that he can trade hands with guys but he has not had much success with that tactic.
on the Anderson moving up
i think that he will do good and destroy irvin. he is a very cut 185. he may get slower at 205 and thats what my worry would be about him moving up a class, 20 lbs is a huge jump to the next wieght. if he gains lots of muscle mass he will be slower and less flexible, and for a guy that loves to throw the knees that could be a hinderance

he's pretty bad. ever since his win over houston alexander he has gotten the most hype for a mediocre fighter since, well, houston alexander

if silva can submit a legit bjj blackbelt in travis lutter then there is no reason to believe he couldnt do the same to irvin who is extremely poor in jiu jitsu. but all of that wont matter because there is no way irvin gets him on his back.
