Dear god (see even an atheist can say that)! My 19 year old son was laid off last week and he jumped on this "incredible sales opportunity". Long story short, it's to demonstrate and sell Kirby cleaners. You know, vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, etc. He's just now realizing (he just got home AT TWO AM after doing a few demonstrations) that it sucks but he doesn't want to just give up and be without a job again. He's only been off work for a week...

About 12 years ago I had a couple of friends who got suckered into selling Kirby's. 8 months and only 3 total sales. They gave up the Kirby's to sell coupon books without any success.

Yeah, I almost fell into similar traps like that when I was in my early 20's and found myself unemployed. WTF were you doing though?? Did you try to counsel your Son on the fact that he was throwing away his unemployment?
