Nope. it was on ABC/NBC and even the BBC. The BBC had a good 15 minute spot on it. Surprisingly they didn't try to blame it on global warming. They did say that these warm currents shift this way about every 100 years or so and that the Japanese have records of this jellyfish explosion happening as far back as the early 1200's.

Not that I can readily cite, but over the years I've learned through family (commercial fishers), science/nature mags, etc. that the US is doing significant damage to the gene pool of fish species through increasing legal fishing limits and time frames. Not to mention, while farming fish seems like a great idea on the surface, it's cripples the stock within a hundred or so generations and is causing excessive mutations thereby lowering overall yield.

Partially true, but never in these numbers. There is more to it than just warm currents and the scientists can't say for sure what it is.
As far as the US is concerned, at least they are trying. I would say all commercial fishing is harmful in some way. Your agenda is obvious.

The bottom line is, no one knows for sure. Some blame climate change, some blame over fishing, but they all claim record numbers of jellyfish. There is obviously something wrong..

Oh and I heard your joke about the tuna before. That's real funny
