My ankle has been hurting for about a month. I went to the doctor today and she gave me a prescription for Naproxen. Here's the first Warning on the attached paper work.
"This drug may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This side effect can occur without warning at any time during treatment with naproxen."

Is it a pain killer or a blood thinner? I guess I don't get the connection to a hurt ankle. What did you do to it? Been out there jumping off cliffs preparing to save the free world?

Naproxen is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Naproxen is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by conditions such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis, gout, or menstrual cramps.
Naproxen may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
