The standards haven't changed. I've always said that it's not an exact science. There are a lot of factors involved (found links vs. DSF uploads, quality of posts, etc) and sometimes it's just when i get around to it.

If guyA deserved a badge at 500 music posts but i didnt get around to giving him one until he had 700 music posts, in his mind 700 is the magic number. So when i give the next guy a badge at 500 posts GuyA will think i have lowered my standards when, in fact, i have not.

Posty you are the "nachos" of the music section. There are music gods but you are in another league altogether. That doesnt mean the others dont deserve music god badges... it just means that nobody lives up to the standard that YOU set for yourself.... and that's a pretty high standard you gotta admit.

I need to make you and Uber music god badge... that'll be another thing on my list of unfinished things to do for DSF.

EDIT -- badges are probably the most time intensive thing i do for the forum. I literally have to go into each section and subsection and search for POSTS made by that user and THREADS made by that user to determine worthiness.... as well as search within threads (like the Movies for download thread).

The search function is usually set at 250 or 500 results so we can limit load on the server. WHENEVER you search and you notice you are getting a limit of 1000 or 1500... that means i have upped the results limit temporarily in order to find ALL of a DSFer's posts. That means i am evaluating for sig badges at that very moment!
