'Blade Runner' -- Harrison Ford vs. Dustin Hoffman
In his memoir, "Blade Runner" producer Michael Deeley talked about the search for android hunter Rick Deckard. Dustin Hoffman was set to star and had "buried himself in this character," according to Deeley. But over weeks of script revisions, the filmmakers began to feel that Hoffman's vision had moved farther away from theirs. They screened production footage of "Raiders of the Last Ark," and Harrison Ford won them over.

'Beverly Hills Cop' - Eddie Murphy vs. Sylvester Stallone
In early scripts of "Beverly Hills Cop," the main character was named "Elly Axel" and hailed from Pittsburgh. When action star Sylvester Stallone was offered the role, he did some rewrites on the script, making it more edgy with less humor. (Some of his story ideas were later used in his film "Cobra.") Two weeks before filming was set to start, Stallone backed out. The script was rewritten again, this time with Eddie Murphy cast as the now renamed "Axel Foley." The movie went on to become a huge box office hit.

'What's Love Got To Do With It' -- Angela Bassett vs. Whitney Houston
Getting to play musical superstar Tina Turner in "What's Love Got To Do With It" was a dream job for many black actresses in Hollywood. Whitney Houston, as well as other actresses like Halle Berry and Janet Jackson, was considered for the role. It was rumored Houston was actually offered the part, but was pregnant and declined. Angela Bassett would win a Golden Globe for the role instead, and later starred with Houston in "Waiting to Exhale."

Really, b/c judging by some of his past films I think he is pretty okay w/ special effects. Maybe he is just pissed that there were no aliens.
Independance Day - aliens
Men In Black - more aliens
Wild Wild West - giant mechanical spider in the wild west
Men In Black II - even more aliens
I Robot - robots
Men In Black III (filming now) yet again more aliens

It's funny. I looked at several sources and the different schools of thought differ in their opinion of those films and her career. Since I didn't write the running commentary, I stand by both their's and your opinion towdog.

haha. all I was saying that at 19-20 years old in those films she was pretty damn fuckable. And with Myrna Loy in The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer also, that film was almost stroke material.

Basically, that was the same thing that the critics said. The movies were not money makers, just she was. At 82, do you still think Shirley Temple Black is splooge worth?
If not, I'm sure mega will want to take a crack at her.
