You should find another IT position you get sick of in a year. Or perhaps learn that a career in IT is doomed to misery. I never met an IT guy who wasn't disgusted with his lot in life.

Yeah, it's true. But I can't afford to go back to college and change careers now. I'll just continue with the fucking misery until my stepdaughter is done with college (only 7 more years hopefully), then I'm going to find a parttime job and start my own microbrewery (other than the one in my steaming hot boxer briefs).

So my job is looking up, they're going to issue me a laptop and aircard for nights I have to be on call and so that I can work from home some. I'm also being trained on the procedures to support the company that mine acquired, which means that in January or February I'm going to spend a week in Little Falls, New Jersey shadowing their support desk people. At the same time, my asshole coworker who's been strutting around here like king shit of turd mountain about his new ("higher" or so he thinks) role has been told he's working Saturdays from now on, starting tomorrow.
