when my unemployment was appealed it was in 3 weeks of me getting it. i didnt get the letter for 3 months. after the appeal i was notified in 3 days that it was being taken away. the next day i sent a letter appealing their choice to take it away. bc i got no response i sent them a check two months ago for $2321. 3 days later the check was cashed. today i got a letter saying i was given a fair trial when they appealed and what they decided was final.
it was made clear in january that until i paid back the total amount they could garnish my sate tax returns. i wouldnt be eligible for unemployment, disabilty or anything i paid into or deserve as a tax paying citizen of nj. i got several letters demanding payment, i had assumed that the letter telling me i was denied an appeal had been lost in the mail and thats why they were asking for the money back i gues sthey planned on keeping my $2321 whether or not i got an appeal.
