I am an avionics troop.
Communication/Navigation/Mission Systems is my career field title.
And since I work on a bomber that means I'm Bomb/Nav too. So not only are all the comm and navigation radios mine, but so is radar and the offensive avionics system.
And you were what? Army? Marines? I can't remember which. Anyway, I promise you, none of your radios where as complicated as this one we have. It's the stupidest shit ever and of course, poorly documented. We have 4 radios total; UHF command radio, UHF/SATCOM, V/UHF (the horribly complicated one which also has a SATCOM portion), and HF. Plus two other comm systems I won't mention. Then add on the nav shit, IFF, Doppler Velocity Sensor, TACAN, VOR/ILS (don't even get me going on how horrible that system is), and the slowest GPS system in the world. Then radar. Then the offensive system which includes an Electro-optical Viewing System (piece of over-engineered shit) and controls bomb doors. And now we have LITENING Pod, which breaks every time we look at it. .... Anyway.
I can't bitch about the chem shit too much. It ended right before I got there yesterday and day shift by far got the worst of the exercise. They had it for two 12 hr shifts and probably spent about a total of 8 or so hrs in MOPP-4 where as us on nights only had to endure it for 12 hrs with us being in MOPP-4 like an hr tops.
I was just really annoyed with how poorly organized it was and how much it fucked up our work.
