Yes. Though the influence was more on the mental enlightenment of the gnostic mind, not the torturous lifestyle. Mysticism also played a large role in their works, and of course Hermetic lore.

Yeah, not my parents. They are both devote Baptists , which of course makes me a failure in their eyes. But that's another thread. I actually enjoy reading other religious texts as most read as fiction to me. the Bible itself, if you take the meaning as not literal, is a fun tale to read.

I havent read the 13 pages because well, this is looks too idiotic and I am afraid I might hurt myself. Simple point is, if everyone in a religion that breaks the rules left or were not allowed in, then we wouldn't have a lot of problems. There wouldn't be anyone in any religions anymore!

Seriously, this thread should have just stopped here. I didn't even really read the original post or his subsequent replies - just the feedback (kinda like I enjoyed the 2g1c reactions more than the video itself). And from that, I was able to glean enough fucktardedness to sate my morning hunger for stupidity.
