Basically, the rules are going to vary state by state. I would argue that state-specific restrictions on the transport of alcohol are in violation of the interstate commerce act. That argument has worked for things as picayune as the size of the mudflaps on a semi. Basically, the argument is that if a law severely restricts the interstate commerce, it doesn't stand. States would fight it hard, as they always do, as a states' rights issue, especially with the economy the way it is now. They want every taxable nickel they can get from booze (and yet marijuana is still illegal?) Regardless, until someone chooses to take that on, yo're going to be limited depending on where you live.

i wouldnt send shit via mail anyway. a friend of mine in London sent me a CPU last year via Royal Mail to USPS, and it took almost a month to get here. sat in customs forever. and it was just in a small, padded envelope.
