Okay, thought I'd share the story here because this shit does not deserve a whole thread. So on Thursday I left work at 11:45 to take pizza from Little Caesar's to my wife's class. If it hadn't been for the students and her daughter, who I thought of as mine, I wouldn't have bothered. I met my dad at 1pm at the house and we loaded my boxes of books and computer stuff (all still packed from moving into the house in November) and my clothes into my Jeep and dad's HHR panel. We drove the 30 miles to my sister's townhouse in SC and unpacked, and drove back up to the house in Shelby in just my Jeep. Dad put the computer table, my computer chair, and the desk that was his sister's when she was young onto my S10 and strapped them down and I put my desktop computer into my Jeep. We left again for Rock Hill. I called wife on the way there to tell her I had moved out (I tried to talk about it with her several times over the last two weeks but she always found a way to get the daughter in the room or go to sleep instead) and she flipped out. First she thought it was an April Fools. Then she begged me to stay, promised to change, to start cleaning and doing laundry, said we didn't have to buy her daddy's decaying house, saying I could go back to college, bargaining with whatever she could. When that failed, she put the 10 year old on the phone (that was dirty if you ask me). That also failed, I told her I had to go, she said "I love you, bye" like always (like a Catholic reciting liturgy) and I said "bye." She said "you're not even going to tell me you love me?" I explained that I didn't love her anymore, again explained I could live with her controlling and her demands for me to do her school work and homework and church volunteer work. She hung up. I took my check out of the bank so that I would have cash. She emailed her school staff and told them I left and took "most of the money." It's been a rough couple days, but she's beginning to accept that the marriage is over. I think in time she will realize she was unhappy. I couldn't provide her with things she expected from a husband (more children, someone to be controlled/cowed, someone with no life except to please her, someone with a big family). Oh well, I'm off to bed, there's not enough alcohol in my sister's place and tomorrow is fucking sunday so that means can't buy any in SC.

Hang in there man, things'll get better. Bravo for standing up for yourself and not being one of those "stay in the marriage for the kid" people. It's not "best" for the kid to have two unhappy parents.

Make sure you get a good lawyer and ASAP, go register with the courts that you're now living apart from her.

Also, send her an email and let her know that if she starts spreading lies and BS about you, you will take legal action on the case of slander.
