I actually agree with you that Nafta is not all bad. Saying that, we are about, oh I don't know, 8 years overdo on renegotiating Nafta to give ourselves a sweeter deal.

The guy is right. The last 12 years of congress have been buttfucking the middle class. America's strength is the middle class. I don't believe in trickle down economics. That
means there's a certain morality involved. What randal said is right, look at what happened with the airlines, we bailed them out in the late 90's to save 50k jobs. But because of a lack of contract (whoops) it enabled them to take said money and lay those people off anyways so the stock price could raise 1.25.

The president doesn't raise or lower taxes. Only congress can do that. The president just has the power to sigh or veto a bill they pass. He can promise whatever he wants. If he raises taxes on incomes under 250k, he'll just blame it on congress like every other president.

Warren Buffet is correct. He has even sent in more than required for his because he believes this. However, estate tax need to be abolished and I can't remember his stance on that and he had a interesting stance on capital gains income that true. It is unfairly taxed to favor the rich.

What most ppl don't know is that NAFTA was originally designed as a immigration policy using economics as a means of keeping Central and South American citizens from wanting to come to our country illegally. By raising their country's economic standards, their ppl would be less likely to want to come to this country. The original proposal was drafted by Ronald Reagan, passed by George Bush, SR. and enacted by Slick Willie Clinton. It has failed miserably. It really needs to be repealed. It is one of the leading causes of our recession that we have right now. Farmer have been complaining about it since day one. And look at the # of food poisonings cases we have had because of the poor regulation of Mexican agriculture.

WE have a democratic congress now and they will also take the senate in Nov. The part I find funny is that they have a lower approval rating than the president, yet ppl can't put 2+2 together.

My official responce to the approval rating is : meh. Most people don't even know what congress does much less have an apt opinion about it. I'm not defending them just saying that most approval/disapproval ratings are retarded.
