While Mir isn't the greatest heavyweight in the world, he's a dangerous fight for someone like Lesnar. His BJJ is by no means bad. He's a legit black belt, he's just not the best out there. In preparation for this fight, Lesnar included Comprido to learn some submission defene. He won't be out there pulling off omaplatas or have an advanced rubber guard, but he should have developed a little sub defense. If anyone is wondering, Comprido is a Mundial champion and was one of the head instructors of the Brasa Jiu Jitsu team.
The simple answer is that I think it could go either way. Brock's chin hasn't been tested from any fights we've seen. Herring has heavy hands and decent leg kicks. He also has quality take down defense. That said, He'll be facing a bigger, stronger wrestler than he's used to. He did fight Mark Kerr when Kerr was in his prime, but Herring was 7 years younger then. I think Lesnar will be able to impose his will, but the fight could easily go either way.
Not sure if anyone else cares, but the Biography channel is doing a 1 hour show on Randy Couture tonight and will profile his whole life. Should be pretty cool and just another excuse for me to drink and enjoy Randy's career during the middle of the work week
I doubt they're related, but it is uncanny timing. Everyone knows he's going to end up in Affliction His bef with Dana is something neither of those two guys can get out of their huge heads so he's not going back to UFC. EliteXC probably can't/won't offer him the money he wants to fight there. He'll end up in Affliction, but he is probably trying to hold out for a little bit more. Go figure.
There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

I'm pretty sure Affliction isn't going to last. They should have gone with a cage instead of a ring. I wonder if all the fighters they signed with tons of ring experience had any impact on that decision.
