Before I was promoted, I was the head guide at our nature reserve. A few times I would be on point of the group walking through and, hey guess what, it was me who came across the them lying in wait, crossing the path, slithering through the trees, and being called to remove a snake from harms way. Like I said, some close calls. Best was to back off slooooowwwllyy, let them settle down and then 'encourage' them to back off. Less aggressive = more persuasion. I find snakes fascinating, but not on the level of being the go-to guy. You guys who keep them as a hobby, could never do that.
