When you pay to get your car back you are paying for towing and the space it takes to store you car, and probably the fine for whatever they impounded if for in the first place. It doesn't take much space to store a cell phone.

I'm pretty sure bringing a phone into school isn't breaking any laws, only school policy. There is a difference.

so you are saying the people who confiscate these phones are duly deputized as officers of the law? And the child is breaking the law, so it is appropriate to tow the phone? And they never take your car with you in it. They take it when you leave it in a tow away zone. Big brother is getting to big man. It's getting out of hand.

what is a policy but a law. jesus look at the fucking word, policy it's one fucking letter away from the word police
you know what you guys go on being a bunch of little bitches with skinned knees, it seems that the only one that understands that a rule was ignored/broken, is Foetus's kid and she's willing to pay for it. so the next time you get caught speeding you go ahead and rant about how unfair a 200 dollar ticket is instead of of saying "damn i should'nt have been speeding"
cause we all know how well blaming other for the world being unfair has worked so far.

Nah man those phones cost a lot of money and they serve an important purpose. When my kid went to school I made sure she always had her phone so I could contact her if I needed to. After a bunch of cowards crash planes into buildings a mile away from your kids school, you want your kid to have a phone.

No one is denying that the child broke a rule. And the child is willing to pay only because she probably doesn't understand that the school doing this may be illegal.

A policy is not a law. I have never heard of anyone going to jail or paying a fine for breaking a policy. Murder is not against policy, it's against the law.

If you still can't understand the difference and how it relates to this subject then there is no point in continuing this discussion.

It is against the law to extort money so it cannot be policy to do, regardless of how you word it.
