Not only should this movie not be remade, it's a perfect example of why remakes, in general, are bullshit. Sure, the special effects, if you can call them that , suck, and the drama class acting is shite, but these things make this movie a fun classic( also great for watching high).
So, Rami wants to make the "...ultimate experience in grueling terror"? Fine, I have no problem with that. Just call it something else.

Here's one of my favorite scenes, Ash & Henrietta in the fruit cellar. The killer special effects start around 1:10.
