This seems like useless technology to me. When I watch TV I don't want to see through my TV, I just want the best picture possible. Sure, it sure looks cool in sci-fi movies, but I don't see many applications for the everyday consumer.

I believe they want to replace all the stuff that a driver must monitor and place it on the windshield with this technology. What would they do with the dashboard then? Make it one big ass glove box?

That's pretty badass. The fact that they can now make a screen which is itself transparent blows me away. OLED is going to completely change displays.
Combine that with the bendable OLED screens and you'll be able to buy a GPS package that has a transparent bendable OLED screen that is sticky around the edges. Just take it out, and roll it onto your windshield. Use a flat wire to run from the screen down to the actual chips and antenna and that can suction cup to your dash.

Built in models will have a larger screen that fills most of the driver side, is built into the glass itself, and will also provide HUD of your speed, RPMs, mileage, etc etc. Built in controls in your steering wheel will provide screen navigation. I want one.

That's a stupid atitude to have. You don't really need GPS either, but I don't see you bitching about that.

how about contact lenses so you can watch TV (like the stockmarket or CNN) while walking along the street or working out or riding the subway? I agree, right now, I'm not certain on the purpose of the transparent TV screen even as a GPS on you windshield (cause more accidents, maybe?), but there are definately applications for the future.
