It's obviously more then just the SSD's to, I didn't see his entire rig but if he can play crysis like that, it's got to be decent hardware in there.

Exactly what I was thinking. Opening apps has a shit load to do with the RAM too. If anything, RAID might slow it down cause it has to write/read to/from all the SSDs/HDs instead of just one. Depends a lot on how fast the RAID controller is.
