A lot of the major city film critics awards are coming out today. Thought I'd compile and then open the floor for discussion, because movie debate is always fun in my book... I'm also going to add my own personal Top 10, because I fucking want to. But it is subject to change, as I've not seen all the good movies yet.. but that should change within the next month, since it is award season... DVDSCR should be abundant this month... though it's off to a slow start.

As it stands right now, here's how I would vote, this is based on movies I've seen only. I'm sure once all the others get released it'll change...
Best Picture: The Hurt Locker
- Such a great film, although this may change with the upcoming movies "Up In The Air", "An Education", and "Avatar". I wanted to put Moon, but The Hurt Locker really is a better movie. I like Moon more than The Hurt Locker, but yeah, I gotta give The Hurt Locker credit where credit is due.
Best Director: Katherine Bigelow, The Hurt Locker
- Gotta hand it to her. The Hurt Locker was fucking phenomenal. Also could change though with Avatar.
Best Actor: Sam Rockwell, Moon
- There will be no challengers. The slighting of Sam Rockwell from all these lists is inexcusable.
Best Actress: Maya Rudolph, Away We Go.
- This WILL change. I haven't seen enough movies with great actresses in them yet. Supposedly Meryl Street in Julie and Julia is great... but I have trouble finding the motivation to watch a movie about two women cooking... you know, since I have testicles. I'm guessing Carey Mulligan from "An Education" will wind up winning this. Maya Rudolph was really good though
Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds
- As much as I hated his character and this movie, he did deliver a fine performance that I can't ignore.
Best Screenplay: "Moon", Nathan Parker & Duncan Jones
- Sorry, but this movie's story and scripting is so fucking great
That's all I'm doing for the individual awards... My Top 10 Favorite movies of the year... remember... Favorite, not BEST
#1 Moon
#2 Zombieland
#3 The Brothers Bloom
#4 The Hurt Locker
#5 Black Dynamite
#6 Star Trek
#7 District 9
#8 (500) Days of Summer
#9 Away We Go
#10 Watchmen

When I was going over the 2009 movies list, I realized I hadn't seen that many either. I'm pissed because a lot of the ones I haven't seen that I want to see..
1) Weren't widely released in theaters
and
2) Haven't had DVD Screeners or Rips yet. It's sad. Last year and the year before around this time it was rife with screeners. Guess we gotta wait another week or two

In no particular order, probably not the best movies ever made but ones I enjoyed; Zombieland, Inglourious Basterds, Watchmen, Up, Terminator Salvation, Star Trek, District 9, Underworld; Rise of the Lycans, Taken, Monsters vs Aliens, Transformers 2.
I should go to more movies, but having been burnt on more than stinker I am pretty careful. I heard Hurt Locker was really great. Also wanted to see 9, but missed it.

I feel very confident that Harry Reid is in charge of the Senate. But I also liked Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles.

1) No Inglorious Basterds. I fucking hate that movie. It's terrible
2) Didn't realize I put Zombieland on there twice... I was retweaking it back and forth between "Best" and "Favorite" and Zombieland waso ne of my favorite but I had it lower oni the "Best" and I must not have changfed it... sweet, now I can add another movie ot the list
EDIT: I actually added Star Trek and District 9 to #6 & 7. I completely forgot about those movie for some reason, which is tough to do, since it's so bad ass...
Fuck it, that list changed by the minute. Don't pay any attention to it
