yeah...umm the guy ran a red light...why shouldn't the cop have written him a ticket???

I think the cop should have escorted him to the hospital, but still given him a ticket because he broke the law by running the red light

A lot of cops are dicks but a lot of them are really good guys. What type of profession has employees that never make a mistake?

are you kidding me. watch the video. there is a reason why the department apologized and the chief even had to hold back from insulting the offending cop.

but what other profession does society allow such power and why do most of them abuse it? a mcdonalds drive through worker can go on a power trip and not give you a refund or the DAMN CHICKEN NUGGETS YOU ORDERED, but there are about 100 avenues of recourse. with cops its usually "my way or the highway". that is until they fuck up with the wrong person like a football player with the celebrity for people to care and the money to fight it.

Fuck him and his bullshit what I can do attitude. 95% of cops are doing it for the right reason. 5% are like this guy. It's just that the 5% get the attention cause they are retarded.

i call bullshit that the # of bad cops is that low. but its also an age thing. most young cops all think they have something to prove and dont have the experience yet to know how to handle situations so they go hard in all of them.

and i guess im not old enough to know this better, but it seems like the standards to become a cop are so lowered and dumbasses are getting in. or has it always been that way?

oh, and my friend told me about another texas cop that pulled over a couple that was speeding (albeit they were going 95 on the highway) so they could get their pet to an emergency hospital. the cop took forever on that one too and wouldnt compromise, so the couple had to watch their dog die in their arms. of course the cop said something like- its just a dog, you can buy another one.

i agree. i dont know how it USED to be. but i know that for the most part the majority of cops-to-be are students who werent exactly the class leaders. (dangle is a cop i think. id like to hear what he thinks)
