Default Seagate unveils 3 TB external HD


Seagate has upped the external storage ante with its 3 terabyte external hard drive offering. The external drive, officially known as the 3TB FreeAgent GoFlex Desk External Drive, offers connectivity via USB 2.0, Firewire 800 or USB 3.0 and carries a price tag of $249.99; that's just north of $0.08 per gigabyte. The drive works with both PC and Mac platforms and includes a 2-year manufacturers warranty.
