I've been obsessing about Babymetal for the last 5 hours. Fucking genius to blend J-Pop and Death Metal.
I forgot about them when I read about them in an article a few years ago about 13 and 15 year girls in a Death Metal band until I saw a vid of them perform this week on The Late Show Stephen Colbert. Kawaii Metal (Cute Metal) is what they call it. A new sub-genre and I've already read some joe critics saying the music isn't Metal. Well they can all fuck off because who said they are strict guidelines to what a genre should stick to. So what if the group has cute girls prancing around to dance pop or even hip-hop with shredding from the musicians as the antithesis. If they're going to argue about it then they should also swing to other spectrum of Metal genre and shit on Grindcore too.
