Um, that makes no sense if you're talking about Federal taxes. It's the same for all of us, one state doesn't get something different. All unemployment income has to be claimed on federal taxes. Federal taxes should be taken out on each payment too.
Are you sure they were just talking about your state taxes?
Just wondering. Does your state allow you to work part time and still get the full weekly payout?
In Ohio, if you make less than your payout, they give you the difference. If you go over, they automatically cancel your claim and you have to re-open it. If you have a "week of no work after a week of work" which is no work after a week of some work, then you again have to re-open your claim. Total PITA as the website is usually down anymore and you have to go through the crappy automated phone service which can take an HOUR!!!
