Sports that should NOT be in the Olympics
 

OK, how about sports that you think have no place in the Olympics....first one I can think of is horse jumping....WHY?

Ohh you know you love looking at those big beasts and imaginging all the nasty things you could do to them!!!

Synchronized trampolining.

I was kind of disappointed to see ping-pong the other morning. Excuse me, "table tennis." Ha !

I was hoping to catch a few cool events the other night, and saw that and mens field hockey. WTF?

Curling. 10 charachters

I actually got into that last Olympics and watched quite a bit of it...

I thought curling was a winter sport. It's played on the grass now? I always thought it was a way of teaching men how to do housework. It has always been one of my favorites in the winter Olympics. How the get that stone to curve, speed up and slow down just by the way they throw the stone and manipulate the ice. It's so cool.

I always thought they should do away with bathing suits in synchronized swimming. :rolleyes:

Speed Walking. Badminton. Anything involving a gun. Anything involving a horse.

Opening Ceremonies

nope still just a winter sport...but this section can deal with Olympics in total...not just the ones happening now and maybe we can keep it going...who knows...

As much as I enjoy watching it, Basketball really doesnt belong. The olympics should be a show case for people not already making millions per year and being televised regularly.

I think they should add demolition derby to that list of possible games....

think they need to add MMA to that list above........also heard they were gonna drop womens softball cuz since 1996 when it was added the US has won every gold, so they want to drop it. Also heard they wanna drop mens baseball cuz they dont get the all stars like they do in basketball........it makes no sense :confused:

And some of those sport are indigenous to only certain countries like sumo.. I only think Japan, USA and Polynesia wrestle sumo. I don't even remember hearing of a Chinese Sumo wrestler.

They used to do the Tug of War from 1900 to 1920. Do you think it would be a great way to fight wars instead of soldiers. We let the politians tug it out and the losers lose their heads. That way they'd be the only ones to die. Beats term limits.

If you use that logic then swimming would be dumped too. Phelps was already making $5 million a year "before" these Olympics.

Not that I don't agree with you. The worst mistake they ever made was letting professional players in. Get back to the days when it was college players in basketball and hockey.
