I doubt Phelps has acromegaly. If he did, he would be testing with a high level of hGH and the Olympic would be accusing him of doping.

I highly doubt it also. Although a single blood test can not always identify someone as having acromegaly. The levels of hGH may not always be high since its secreted by the pituitary gland in spurts. Most times they would need to do an oral glucose tolerance test to get an accurate result. I don't think he is, but I'm not a doctor....I just play one on TV. :D

He really doesn't demonstrate any of the physical hallmarks of it. Just sayin....

The reason he needs those calories is because he's half dolphin, duh. His mom was half bottle nose and his dad was a blow hole aficionado. The rumor that he has this disease comes from a Canadian conspiracy to dominate all the medals in the Olympics.
