Instead the Packers got drafted Brohm......so the Bears could watch him light up their secondary in the future, once Rodgers crumples under the pressure of being the first post-Favre Packer QB

I know, what's worse than the Bears not drafting him....the Packers drafting him....I just hope he's not doomed to a Tim Couch fate now....

Brohm is not going to be another Tim Couch. The pressure won't be on him like it was on Couch, plus, he's going intoa s ituation where the team is going to have a lot more talent around him. When Cleveland was brought back to the NFL they were an expansion franchise and had NOTHING in terms of a support cast. Brohm is going to have Ryan Grant, Greg Jennings, Ruvell Martin and Jermichal Finley, that TE out of Texas they drafted this year. Plus, he's dangerously accurat.e To me, he reminds me of a Drew Brees type QB when he was coming out of college. Dangerously accruate and enough arm to make you pay for it.

I hope not....I thought Couch was going to make a decent QB after he got outta Cleveland....but the Packers just released him...makes you wonder if he was really that bad, or did Cleveland just ruin him?

I'm sorry Pat, I can't forgive you for this.

We could have coexisted as cubbie/phillie fans.....but not Romo/Eagles.

What major was that?

effjay 09-03-2008 02:18 PM

Pat, I've been a Cowboy fan for my entire life and all my boys called me CRAZY when I told them that the Cowboys signed this guy from EIU to their practice squad a few years ago, that he looked great in college and looked great in the preseason under Parcells. They all actually came out last year and said that maybe I was right about him, haha.

Shasta: Cleveland did ruin him. But then again, I think that a lot of QBs that go # 1 overall are going to have problems early on. That's a lot of pressure on a position that has so much built into it.

Communications (though I don't think he actually got a degree) Mine was Electronic Media Production--under the same department.

He is a EIU PANTHER! Tell your friends they owe you some beers. EIU tried getting him to come back for Homecoming but the Cowboys weren't on a bye but he did donate money to Athletics and the Communications Department, right after he signed his contract. Good guy and he is banging Jessica Simpson. What's not to like about him??

EIU pissed me off though because I wanted an EIU Romo Jersey so bad and you CAN get them--you just have to join the Athletics Club--for like $150!!! Assholes! They do sell EIU Romo jersey Shirts though. Probably get one those......im going down there this weekend actually ---who wants one!?!?

another EIU tidbit---

Mike Shannahan--head coach of the Denver Broncos
Sean Peyton--head coach of the New Orleans Saints
Brad Childress- head coach of the Minnesota Vikings

ALL ARE EIU ALUM!
