Trojan Warning!
If you get a pop-window from removespywarethreats.com with another window to download and install an application. Then do not click on it to close the window. It's a fake website that tried to install a trojan downloader. Yesterday I was using IE at the time (forced to) but I stopped everything, did the following:
Open up Windows Task Manager and end the process from there (both the pop-up and installation windows). Secure delete your browser history. I use IE Privacy Keeper which will do IE, Firefox, and I think Opera. Go here to download IE Privacy Keeper, it's free. Code:
Content, Pictures and Download links visible to registered users only. Add the offending website to your browsers, firewall, and Spywareblaster blacklists. Read Up Code:

That sounds so complicated.

LOL yep superware 2009 or Anti virus 2009. I had my run in with that shit last year and it fucked my computer up bad.
|
to set up some kind of network printing, my girl turned off my antivirus and firewall and all that bc the printer geniuses told her to. then tells me a month later. im sure ive got shit hiding everywhere now. ive got random worms and trojans getting stopped now.
at least it wasnt as bad as being on the open network in college. i used to have to get my computer expert friends to basically reboot my comp like once every 6 months. couldnt save it so just had to wipe it clean and start over. |
i backup everything and reformat about every 6 months. kind of a pain, but totally worth keeping my shit speedy and mal-free.

I got one of those Trojans once. Took me 2 weeks to fool it so I could d/l the fix for it. It disabled my anti-virus programs and commandeered my IE so I couldn't google anything that might have disabled it.
