Gaywood vice principal indicted on sexual abuse charges

Gaywood Elementary School Vice Principal Shadrick Woods was indicted today by a Prince George’s County grand jury on four counts of sexual abuse against a minor. Woods is alleged to have committed two counts of child sexual abuse and two counts of third-degree sexual assault against a 6-year-old student at the Seabrook school, according to a source close to the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the indictment has not been made official yet.

No warrant for Woods’ arrest has yet been issued, the source said.

Woods was removed from the school March 10 after allegations of inappropriate contact with the minor surfaced.

John White, a spokesman for the county school district, said he was unable to comment at this time because he was just learning of the charges.
