Jackson Memorial Thoughts

The public memorial just ended. It was background noise while I puttered around the house, but I sat and watched while his family talked. And I'm in tears.

I've posted a lot of venom here and other places about him in the last couple of weeks. His pedophilia, his being a Black icon while trying to become White. How Thriller was a great album. But at the end of the day, a large family lost a brother, a son. And had to mourne in public. To see his kids, whether they're biologically his or not, whether he bought them or not, to have the confused and bewildered looks on their faces. To have lost the only father they knew. To hear his daughter call him "Daddy". How does it not break your heart? How does it not strip away the bullshit and show nothing but the pain fellow human beings are feeling? The same feeling that we all feel at some point.

They may be a family of flakes, but goddammit, I feel sorry for them. It must be hard for them to look in the mirror and wonder why it was him that went and not them. And what they may have been able to do to have prevented this.

A sad picture all around.

here are my thoughts: get the fuck on with it and shut the fuck up about it

I do feel sorry for the kids but I think the rest of them are full of shit. I am sure the fight for his money will be legendary. What really makes me sick is how the media vilified the guy for years and now they are leaching off his death and saying what a great guy he is.

I watched this and some of it was pretty cool but other parts were just obscene (Rev. Sharpton and the Kings).

Mariah Carey looked fatter than Jennifer Hudson and couldn't sing.
Magic Johnson is the healthiest AIDS patient in the world.
Smokey Robinson looked like he just rose from the grave.

This is MJ's poor Daughter saying good bye:(

Wow. I was about to say I was touched by some of the speeches, and by seeing his "daughter" cry for her daddy, but never mind, I don't want Suz to think of me as some kind of faggot or something.

I can't believe how much some of the brothers look like each other. Three of them could have been clones!

its a funeral/memorial 3000 miles away (for me) for someone i havent been with 1020303 yards of..

but it was still special. if you love music. you love micheael jackson. for his 50 dates in london. the venue is so huge that even led zeppelin couldnt unite and sell it out. its unbelieable how much of a global icon he is.

besides michael jackson the performer, he was still a person and i think thats why the paris segment was so heartbreaking. she doesnt care he;s worth half a billion dollars or that hes gone to trial for child molestation.. that he paid 20 million to settle in 96... or that hes a drug addicted weirdo. to her, he was her "daddy" and those were the truest words spoken in that entire broadcast
