A gorilla is considered bushmeat and so is a rat. The problem comes from the exploitation of endangered species. There are millions of lions. If a native killed a lion for food, that would not be a problem. It's the indiscriminate hunting of everything that moves that is the problem.

well, millions is an exaggeration. What I mean is there are lots of lions and they reproduce very quickly and easily. There are places their populations are down but in other places there are too many. It's all about habitat. There's just not enough room for them, so they become threatened. But in general there are plenty of lions. There are many right here in the US as pets and in zoos.You kill one gorilla and you may seriously impact the whole group. With animals like lions, you kill the alpha male and another moves up. Not a big hit on the population.

i saw a couple dead gorillas in a recent issue of Nat Geo, and i think some bushmeat (mostly monkey) in the same article.

and i understand what your saying, just giving you a hard time ;)
