Just finished re-reading this, it's absolutely amazing:

Not really reading anything now, as I am deeply ensconced in work using this book:

I am about 90% through this book and have really enjoyed it. The goes through the various developments that have affected the fish markets in Japan and globaly. Originally, American fishermen used tuna for catfood while the Japanese would sell it for $15/pound. It later goes into tuna ranching ect. I'd definately recommend it. I've also heard good things about The Zen of Fish

and Tsukiji: The Fish Market at the Center of the World

My guess is these books will somewhat overlap in information

You said ensconced, I think I love you.

DAS - Jules Verne was the man.....seriously, one of the many joys in being parent is rediscovering old books from your youth. My oldest daughter went on a Verne bender and I was reading vicarously thru her. Good stuff.

Good suggestions on here - thanks all, I've got some reading to do.

Just picked this book up from my Sis in Law, she says it is along the lines of Christopher Moore, who I love.

Which book of his is this? If I remember correctly the kid has written more than one, but only one has gotten acclaim.
