Newest version has an ethernet port and will pull media off a PC through it. No need to connect a USB device which means no need to move the drive back and forth to a PC too.

if you have a netflix account then this device takes streaming out of the kitchen and onto the big screen. thinking of ditching cable and just paying for a modem and 9$ a month for unlimited movie streaming.:cool:

wait, so i think im getting an external harddrive for christmas. if i buy this....then i can easily hook them up to play on my tv and not have to burn all those movies? or does it just work with the passport hard drive?

yes, and it doesnt have to be a passport. will work with any external usb hdd
