I quit ages ago. You'll find that your wind decreases dramatically as you age. Especially if you smoke.
|
Quit smoking 18 months ago after 2 failed attempts.Without a doubt one of hardest things I've gone through and was not possible without Champix.
Did have a lot of side effects and constantly getting sick but was worth all the shit to finally quit for good.Better health and feel better than I ever have. Also know if I ever have one smoke I'll be back on them worse than ever as each time in the past when taking up the habit I smoked more and more lol. Evil fucking things!!! |

I just quit smoking and its really not that bad. Im 29 and ive been smoking since i was 15 or so, heavily since 18. I have a lot of nervous energy and my legs do that shaky up and down thing when im on the PC but i think you just need to focus it on something else. Its tough to train your mind to think about other things. when in doubt, youtube the lungs and heart and how they look after smoking for years. The larynx procedures, all that nasty shit. It worked for me :)

Decided 3 and a half years ago to quit.
No pills, patches, potions or whatever. Damn it was hard. But well worth it. (For the wallet too. Smoking is an expensive habit in the UK) It is a lot damn easier now smoking is prohibited in bars here too. That was the hardest. Still get cravings if I have a drink or 12 @ home. |
I think today is 25 days since I quit...
Just couldn't justify the cost of cigs anymore. Especially since the amount I'll save every month is half my child support payment. |

At risk of being on topic(BTW Mad never ending love for TheSnake!).... I quit smoking 7/1 cold turkey and it was rough for a couple weeks but I leveled out.... Ive had a few hard days with really bad cravings... but now I'm cool going out to bars and whatnot without tweaking for a smoke.......

I gave it up with someone else, just stopped. I noticed I could breathe better within a week or two it seemed. I could bring in groceries going up & down the stairs, without having to sit down (& have a cigarette) Then smell & things came back.
The cravings are hte hardest, you have to just do it. Just be ready & do it. After eating, I'd pick up a lighter, looking for something & have to remember, Oh, we don't do that anymore. Weed helped for that. I still think of it. When I'm lost in the car, when I see people smoking, or smell it, when drinking, sometimes in dreams. I can't ask anyone for one, or I might do it again. It's worth feeling better & not coughing all the time. |
Find something like toothpicks are candy it's more of getting over the habit of using your hands and stuff

Trying to quit again.

Hoping to do the same, haven't gained any weight from quitting yet but trying to lose 50 lbs by the end of the year. Anyways Day 4 and the cravings are hit and miss. But gonna give it an honest effort this go around. |
I was quit smoking four times and I smoke again. You just need to quit and thats it.
|
2 years without a cigarette for me... only advice i can give is that you have to want to give up for yourself, if you don't want really want to give up you'll fail everytime
|
A non smoker since 2010. Went to an Allen Carr clinic and haven't come close to wanting to smoke since then. Friends still do, doesn't bother me in the least and felt so much better after a couple of months of getting the gunk out of my system. If you want to quit then I recommend the clinics. Took me as a fairly heavy smoker (1-2 packs a day) and I left the session just the same but with zero interest in smoking.
